A new visual identity by volume2 for the Girard Côté Bérubé Dion architectural firm

Montréal, November 30 2011 – The architectural firm Girard Côté Bérubé Dion (GCBD) gave volume2, a graphic design and public relations firm specializing in architecture, design, and lifestyle, a mandate for a total redesign of its visual identity and its Web site, www.gcbdarch.com.

The arrival of a new partner at GCBD made it necessary to completely redesign the visual identity created during the merger that took place one year before. The objective was to create an identity faithful to the spirit of the pre-existing graphics while highlighting the firm’s new elements and synergies. volume2 was also asked to develop an image that exudes stability and inspires trust among the firm’s clients despite several changes of name and identity over a short period.

To execute this mandate, the agency chose an approach that is uncluttered and classic by designing a simple image enhanced with subtleties to avoid any sense of rigidity. An element hidden on the back of the letterhead and hot stamping of the logo on the business cards help to create an elegant, discreet series that meets the client’s brief.
